I’m Sherraine, a Brooklyn-born doula, social worker, and proud parent. Since 2019, I’ve supported families in New York City through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, blending my MSW background with years of doula training to bring both knowledge and compassion into every birth and postpartum experience.

I first learned the word “doula” in 2013, while finishing my degree and exploring how to best support children and families. I realized that a child’s wellbeing is deeply tied to the family’s, and felt an immediate sense of rightness that doula work was the path I was meant to take — supporting parents, and thus supporting families. That sense of calling has guided me ever since.

My philosophy is simple: birth is not a mystery to be endured — it’s a profound and life-altering experience to be celebrated with guidance and support. I prepare clients with evidence-based knowledge, calm presence, and strong ‘you-can-do it’ energy, so that when the time comes, they feel ready to meet the unknowns of their own unique journey. I want parents to feel like they’re in good, experienced hands, while also feeling like they’re surrounded by a trusted friend.

I’m especially passionate about postpartum care. Becoming a parent myself cracked open the mystery of what it means to navigate those early days. I know firsthand how powerful it can be to feel truly seen and supported — not just to “get through it,” but to find confidence, calm, and even joy in the midst of transition. I love helping parents settle into rhythms of rest, nourishment, and delight, while also watching partners step into their roles with confidence so that families can thrive together.

For me, doula care is not just luxury - it is community restored, a cashmere-soft hug during one of life’s most profound transitions. My work is about helping families feel knowledgeable, cared-for, and celebrated as they grow.
