FAQs
-
A: I recommend reaching out during your second trimester (around 16-20 weeks) to ensure availability. That said, I've supported families who reached out much later — if you're interested, get in touch and we'll see if we're a good fit.
-
A: Yes! I support all birth settings and respect your choices about where and how you give birth. My role is to support you, not to push any particular type of birth.
-
A: Life happens, and birth is unpredictable. We'll talk through my cancellation and rescheduling policies during our consultation. I do my best to stay flexible while also honoring the on-call commitment I make to you.
-
A: Yes. I offer payment plans for all packages, including sliding scale services when possible. We can discuss what works for your family during our consultation.
-
A: I will be at your birth unless there's a true emergency (illness, family emergency, or if I'm already attending another birth). In those rare cases, I have a trusted backup doula who I'll introduce to you during our prenatal visits. Backup coverage is part of every package.
-
A: It's a virtual monthly gathering for current and former clients - a space to connect, ask questions, share what's going well (or hard), and build community with other parents. It's optional, but most families love having this built-in support beyond our one-on-one time.
-
A: Absolutely. I support all families and use inclusive language. Your family structure, identity, and birth preferences are honored and respected. I also know many LGBTQ doulas that I can happily refer you to if you are looking for affinity in your support
-
A: I'm a certified birth and postpartum doula trained through Ancient Song Doula Services. I'm also a licensed social worker (MSW from Hunter College) and have been supporting families since 2019. I paused my practice from 2022-2024 to be present for my own child’s early years, and I'm back now with even deeper insight into what new parents need.
-
A: I'm based in Brooklyn and primarily serve families in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I'm open to families in other NYC boroughs and Northern New Jersey depending on timing and availability.
